The Organ at the CHURCH OF THE COVENANT (Presbyterian, USA) was built by the Ernest M. Skinner
Organ Company and completed in 1930. In 1958, the Aeolean–Skinner Organ Company rebuilt and
enlarged the instrument. Most recently, in 1996, the HOLTKAMP ORGAN COMPANY of Cleveland,
Ohio, constructed a new console for this instrument. In addition, the Grand Cornet and two
ranks of reeds in the Great division, as well as the electronic 32’ pedal stops were added to
round-out this already magnificent instrument.
TODD WILSON presides over this splendid instrument as Director of Music and Organist at Church
of the Covenant. In addition to its regular use during services and concerts, the organ is also
the primary teaching instrument for the Organ Department of THE CLEVELAND INSTITUTE OF MUSIC, chaired by Todd Wilson. As you can guess, the organ gets plenty of use!
Currently, the entire Solo and Choir divisions have been taken out, releathered and replaced. Church of the Covenant
had undertaking a $2 million capital campaign, part of which has been thoughtfully used to rebuild these
divisions. Additional plans include re-regulating all the reeds of the organ and fixing some other minor problems.
